Glenmuir waterproofs revealed

Liberton top

Glenmuir, preferred supplier of clothing for Europe's victorious Ryder Cup team in Ireland is introducing a new range of winter weatherwear in anticipation of inclement weather making up for a hot summer and mild autumn.

Its Liberton rainsuit top (£84) comprises a high-neck storm collar and half-zip top with storm pockets and draw cord hem, together with concealed zip off sleeves and elasticated cuffs with Velcro adjusters. Available in Ascot blue with navy or sand with black.

The Leith rainsuit trousers share the same quiet, lightweight outer layer with waterproof laminated membrane. Features include hand warmer and back storm pockets, elasticated waist with draw cord, zip fly, leg zips with storm flaps. Available in 29- 31- and 33-inch leg, expect to pay from £52.50.

Tyree top

The Fintry trousers features hand warmer and back storm pockets, elasticated waist with draw cord, leg zips storm flaps and Velcro adjusters. Available in 29- and 31-inch leg for around £52.50.

MacWaet gloves

All weather MacWet gloves (£25 a pair) not only keep your hands warm but will provide extrra grip in the wet, replacing the traditional synthetic or leather glove. Made from Aquatec, a man-made fabric that breathes to give a consistently controlling grip, the material is quick drying and can even wick away perspiration.
