Padraig Harrington at Ryder Cup
Harrington will sign cap for Rob

Rob Allison's impromptu stab at poetry earned him a Golfmagic prize, which he says he will treasure for the rest of his life.

The 49-year-old Darlington accountant joined in the fun when we asked forum members to tell us about their favourite course for the chance to win a Wilson Staff cap (complete with personal message) signed by Ryder Cup hero Padraig Harrington following his exclusive interview prior to the Europe v USA matches in September.

We picked out the entry at the end of September from Rob's alter ego 'Joroni (22)' to take the unique prize:

Of Longhirst Hall golf course in Northumberland, he said:

'Golfers must beware

Water, water everywhere

Had it some Florida sun

Course would suit everyone'

It took a while for Rob, who lives in Eston near Middlesbrough, to respond to the news that he'd won, as he says his daughter Nichola tends to commandeer his home computer from which his entry was submitted. "I'm delighted to win the prize it will be something I will treasure for ever." He also revealed that he took up golf in 2003 and was hooked immediately.

" I now play every weekend with fellow GM members Keith Flook and Chris Curry and with their help I have achieved a society handicap of 20 and a personal best of 89 while making two very good friends along the way..."
