 Benross V6 TriMass driver
|
As was proved by the high quality of driving we saw in the US Open last week, with Angel Cabrera, Bubba Watson and Tiger Woods among the longest and the straightest, making the most of your driver is proving a key factor in golf - especially among club golfers.
So to have a driver in your bag you can trust and at a price that's affordable, makes so much difference.
In April/May Golfmagic.com offered the chance to win one of the latest V6 TriMass driver from
Benross, rated recently the best among drivers at under £150 and now we can announce five lucky winners.
All identified among hundreds who entered, that the 460cc club with an airflow skirt to maximise its aerodynamics, also features three movable weights strategically positioned in the sole to deliver either a neutral, draw or fade bias.
Peter Davis (44) is a health and safety manager who plays off a 23 handicap at Brynhill near Barry in the Vale of Glamorgan.
"I have been playing golf for six years now and don't play to my potential. I'm a typical high handicapper and if only I could be consistent I would be a reasonable golfer," says Peter.
"I generally get good distance on my driver, woods and irons, but 15 to 25 per-cent of my shots will slice or pull away to the left causing me great frustration. Hopefully the Benross driver with its adjustable bias may help me sort out a few problems and I look forward to giving it a go."
Says Mark Scott (46) from Brighton: "Thanks. This is the first time I have won something for a very long time. I'm no longer a club member but prefer to play at various courses with a few friends and the odd society. I like to 'explode' the ball rather than the 'gently bentley' approach, so I'm looking forward to checking out this new driver."
Peter Crundwell (37) is a chef who plays at Swaffham in Norfolk to a handicap 'in the low 20s.'
"I first became interested in golf when I worked at a country hotel, which had a 9-hole course attached. It was part of the perks of the job!" he recalls.
Antony Hyde (41) is a service engineer from Rotherham who plays to a 12 handicap at Grange Park Golf Club where he has been a member for seven years.
"My ambition is to get down to single figures but I realise I need to play at least once a week,"he says.
Our final winner is Martin Gristwood, a driving instructor who has been playing for 20 years, with a handicap of 19 at Cleveland golf Club near his home in Redcar.
" I am also a member of Driving Instructors' Golf Association, which meets
approximately four times a year at venues across the country."
