Dressed to a Tee makes its debut

Golf shirts

Are you finding the traditional look of golfwear drab, dreary and uninspiring? If so, Sam and Harry Green from Leamington Spa are unveiling their first collection of lifestyle golfwear which they claim will give a fresh and laid back look to 18 to 35-year-old golfers.

Their Dressed to a tee golf shirts and t-shirts for men and women challenge the unspoken rules governing golf's dress code with cleverly designed, functional shirts in vibrant colours and even reinforced the shoulders with extra material to make bag carrying more comfortable.

Their off-course t-shirts also represent the company's image for modernising golf, with innovative designs breathing life and energy into the game.

Says Harry: “We wanted to start a golf clothing company that embodied our spirit and enthusiasm for the game. We've both been playing golf for a number of years and have always been struck by the strict, albeit unspoken, rules governing dress code. Golf's reputation has suffered because of this. It's our aim to make golf clothing more fun, and in the process, more appealing to a much wider range of people.”

Golf shirt prices are around £40.

Srixon Sports has revealed that it plans to introduce its latest 460 cc Z-RW driver, featuring a unique Starburst Power Face design with four different zones on it to control sidespin.

"Today's drivers promoting greater accuracy by maximising MOI through head shapes and designs that are very unconventional," says Srixon president Richard Stamper. "By using our Digital Impact Technology, we are able to create a long and accurate driver that has all of the forgiveness benefits of today's high MOI clubs but with a conventional shape that golfers prefer. The science of distance and forgiveness doesn't have to look otherworldly."

As slower swingers tend to favour higher lofted drivers, Srixon claims this system promotes more efficient squaring of the clubhead at impact for all golfer types. The standard SV-3014 shaft from Fujikura features a lower torque and stiffness profile designed to deliver higher trajectory and lower spin.

The Z-RW driver will be available from Septemberin right-handed lofts of 8.5, 9.5, 10.5 and 11.5 degrees in regular and stiff flexes. Price has not yet been determined.

It's believed Srixon also plans to release WG-06 wedges and i-701 series irons.

Callaway Golf apparel introduced its Spring/Summer collection for 2008 at a fashion show hosted by the Langdon Hills Golf Club in Essex - the new men's and women's collections combine bold colours with technologically advanced fabrics.

In the men's ranges, the X-Series features Drysport, Windsport and Warmsport tops with new colours of 'Torrent' (soft blue, lime green, black and white) and 'Adrenaline' (black, white, green and pale blue).

The Sport range leans more to classic tastes with Geneva and Valis figuring strongly, while the women's ranges include St Tropez (navy/bluebell), Monaco (citrone, white and black) and Biarritz (includes coral green and spectrum yellow).
