Now you can play Stenson's clubs

Srixon i-701 iron

Srixon says its new i-701 irons with traditional forged cavity backs, packed with new digital technology, are already in the bag of Accenture Matchplay champion Henrik Stenson.

The Hampshire-based company adds that the clubs have been designed with a generous sweetspot and a pocket cavity which enables the low to mid-handicap golfer to get the ball airborne more easily for higher, straighter and longer shots.

Srixon's use of its Digital Impact Technology (DIT) in the i-701 series, says the company, has led to a new generation of tradition-looking, playable clubs. The two-piece head design has a thinner, larger face making them even more forgiving and powerful.

Stenson, the tall Swede, with the upright stance, who hits long, towering, soft-landing approaches to greens: “These are the best irons that I have ever hit. They look great at address and with their incredible forgiveness, even my mis-hits are still good. And the soft forged face gives me the spin, precision and feedback I need to attack the tight pins on today's Tour courses.”

The i-701 Tour irons have a 1025 forged carbon steel cavity back with a thin top line with a minimal offset - the set up profile preferred by most better players. The sole has been designed with cuts in the toe and heel to reduce turf drag and allow the club to pass through almost any lie with ease.

The i-701 irons (right-hand only) have Nippon NSPRO 950 GH steel shafts fitted as standard and are available from 3-iron PW in regular and stiff flex, with a 2-iron option. Recommended price is £599. Cost of the i-701 Tour iron (custom-fit only) with True Temper Dynamic Gold shafts is £649.

Srixon Z-RW driver

Using similar DIT technology, Srixon's Z-RW driver features a unique Starburst face design with 'four different zones to control sidespin.'

Srixon says slower swingers tend to favour higher-lofted drivers, so this system promotes more efficient squaring of the clubhead at impact for all levels of ability.

It features a two-piece 460cc conforming head, SV- 3014 shaft from Fujikura with a lower torque and stiffness profile from tip to butt, for higher trajectory and lower spin.

The Z-RW driver is only available in a right hand model with lofts of 8.5, 9.5, 10.5 and 11.5 degrees and comes in either regular (66 gms with high kick point) or stiff (63 gms with high kick point). Price is £249.
