Range of Sharpro multi compound cord grips

I have recently changed all the grips on my clubs. I tried the top of the range Golf Pride corded multi-compound on one of my irons for a few rounds and loved it. But at over £7 fitted they are pricey.

So I did a bit of research and came up with a Sharpro's alternative, which I'd read had been highly rated and ordered a set of red multi-compound cord grips from www.gamolagolf.com, based in Stonehaven near Aberdeen.

The upshot is that these Sharpro grips are outstanding and, in fact, I couldn't tell them apart from the supposed superior ( and more expensive)Golf Pride grips.

When you consider the Golf Pride cost £ 5.50 each and the Sharpro cost as little as £2.23 each, the decision is easy. They really came into their own in the wet. I have never had better feel and my hands didn't slip once.

However, here are two pieces of advice:

1) Make sure you get the correct size grip for your hand size. I have changed over to mid-size to reflect my shovel sized hands and this has definitely helped my ball control.

2) I chose not to fit the grips myself. I was quoted £3 per club by one source but eventually went to the pro at my local municipal course, who charged me only £1 a club - a bargain.

The Golfmagic Verdict
Rating: 9/10
Summary: As with most things with golf, it's worth shopping around for alternatives despite the influence of the big, expensive brands. I'm well pleased with my new red, distinctive grips.
