Look out for two new drivers to challenge those already aiming to replace the clubs made obsolete by the new restrictions on trampoline-effect clubfaces.
With the R&A's edict that drivers with a 'spring-loaded' face (circa 2005-6) that exceed the 0.83 COR limit, are no longer permissable in competitions,
Yonex and
Ben Sayers are hoping their clubs will prove popular.

Ben Sayers' Benny driver costs £99 and claims to use its bullet-shaped head design to deliver 'the perfect launch angle with reduced ball spin,' adding that
'strategically positioned weight bars help produce a solid, pure sound at impact.'
Says sales director Andie Fraser: “We have worked with component manufacturers to introduce the highest quality product at an astounding price."
The Benny driver is available with a choice of either Grafalloy Prolaunch Red mid-kick or Aldila NV shafts and either 10.5 degree or high trajectory lofts.
