Ryder Cup hero Lee Westwood will perform the official opening of
the 2008 London Golf Show at ExCel in London on April 25. The show runs for three days until April 27.
The 34-year-old, re-establishing himself in the world's top 20, is an ambassador for Your Place Abroad's new Fairways Living developments, and will also be signing autographs and posing for photos on the company's stand at the show. He has already purchased a property on the El Barancco development at Amarilla Golf, in Tenerife.
Andy Barwell, managing director of the Golf Show Group, said: “Lee is one of the country's most recognisable golfers and his presence will create a real buzz around the show. He's once again at the very top of his game and going to be one of Europe's biggest hopes in this year's majors. We're delighted he's accepted our invitation.”
The London Golf Show will again include a floating green, a huge American Golf retail area and dozens of exhibitors showcasing the best in equipment, fashion and golf holidays. There will also be putting greens, interactive competitions and an indoor driving range.
Advanced tickets are two for £15 and all visitors get free entry to A Place in the Sun Live, taking place at ExCeL the same weekend. Under-13s enter free when with an adult.

One of the highlights of the UK Golf Show due to take place at Whittlebury Park, next to the Silverstone Race circuit in Northamptonshire from April 10-13 is a competition staged by the Long Drivers of Europe - the first UK Open Long Drive Championship open to all-comers. Entrants will be joined by several of Europe's biggest pro long drivers, including reigning champ Patrik Andersson and ex-PGA Tour player Johan Tumba both from Sweden.
The event is also being used to launch the new Top Flite Freak ball and visitors are being encouraged to try the new product and win daily prizes.
Tickets to the UK Golf Show are available in advance from Ticketmaster at £12.50 or on the door at £17.50.
The Faldo Series is introducing two new qualifying series events for young golfers in Russia and South America. Already established in the UK and Asia, Faldo has recently included Iceland and Turkey into the schedule.
Winners of each separate event will have the opportunity to meet and draw inspiration from the 2008 Ryder Cup captain at the Faldo Series Grand Final later this year.
