GPS built into the new Motocaddy S5
|
While long-established brands like PowaKaddy continue to hold market leadership, in our poll it was Motocaddy and its S3 model which came out on top. Its innocent but controversial temperature gauge, which caused consternation with the game's Rule-makers didn't prevent it emerging as the most popular trolley with the GM membership.
Rod Brown, managing director of MotoCaddy told me this week: "We're delighted to have won this award, especially as it's voted for by the very discerning and enthusiastic golf addicts that are the Golfmagic.com readers and visitors to the site.
"You've only got to take a look at the lively forum that takes place every day here to see what an informed bunch of golfers they are. Winning this one means more to us than
the various tests we've won in the magazines."
Motocaddy was showcasing its latest S5 Digital model in Munich this week where it was getting rave reviews for its innovation in building a slot for a hand-held Sure Shot GPS into the handle of the trolley.
The combination of the two allows the golfer to manoeuvre the trolley, check the yardages, identify the hazards and even record the greens hit and putting stats for future analysis. It will costs little short of £550 but is certain to keep Motocaddy in the forefront of trolley technology in the New Year.
