Alvaro Quiros powered his way home for the season-ending Dubai World Championship to become the first player to win with Callaway’s new RAZR Fit adjustable driver.

With a spectacular tee-to-green effort, showcasing his prodigious length off the tee with average drives bombing out to 311 yards, Quiros finished two strokes clear on 19-under for his second title of the European Tour season.

Since switching to the new RAZR Fit driver in November – not available in stores until February 15 2012 – the big-hitting Spaniard has chalked up consecutive top tens with a tie for seventh in Hong Kong and victory at Jumeirah Golf Estates. Understandably, Quiros loves what he sees.

“For my entire career the driver has been the most important club in my bag,” said Quiros, who now moves to World No.21 after landing his half of his six career titles in the Middle East.

“Now I’ve got the RAZR Fit, I know I have a driver that I can trust. I am hitting this driver straighter and longer than my last one for sure.

“I hit the RAZR Fit once and I knew straight away it was going in the bag! I’ve worked really hard with the Callaway guys to get the club dialled in to my perfect settings and it’s paid off this week.”

Callaway says the RAZR Fit driver features its renowned OptiFit adjustability system—designed for easy use and noticeable changes in trajectory for each of the settings. The system allows golfers to adjust the club’s face angle to open, square or closed by rotating the cog.

Proving there’s plenty more to his game than outdriving the competition, Quiros ranked second in greens in regulation (83%) using his RAZR X Muscleback irons and X-Forged wedges, and sixth best in putts per hole (1.681) with his Odyssey ProType putter, capping the season off in style by draining a 35-foot eagle putt on 18.
