Lee Westwood: Praise from Oceanico

Oceânico Group has congratulated its property ambassador Lee Westwood on claiming the title of ‘best golfer in Europe’ by winning the Dubai World Championships at Jumeirah Golf Estates.

The victory saw Westwood, wearing the Oceanico insignia on his visor, pip Rory McIlroy to the Race to Dubai title. He said: "It’s got to be the best day of my golfing career. I think that's about as good as I've ever played under this pressure. Hopefully there will be more, maybe a Major in the future."

Oceânico has had success with some of Europe’s finest since taking control of seven courses in the Algarve, aligning itself with the likes of three-time major champion Padraig Harrington and multi-winner Darren Clarke, as well as Westwood.

‘We have had a successful few years with our golfers," commented Simon Burgess, director Oceânico Group. "Padraig has had an amazing run and Lee has been knocking on the door for a while. This win, together with his victory at the Portugal Masters at the Oceanico Victoria course, caps off a remarkable year, both for him and for us."

With seven courses in the Algarve and further developments at Little River in the USA, Oceânico Group’s commitment to golf is certain to blossom.
