As a model of consistency in the Majors this year - one of only two players to finish in the top-20 of all four championships along with newly crowned European No 1 Robert Karlsson - it's no wonder he's in such demand by the US Tour, where the economic downturn, TV ratings and lack of sponsors is beginning to bite.
So what about our champions? US Masters winner Trevor Immelman enjoyed Spring but struggled throughout the rest of the year while Tiger Woods was forced out with injury midway through the season in which he was runner-up at Augusta and dramatically won the US Open in California, effectively, with a broken leg.
His demise left the the stage clear for Padraig Harrington to mop up the remaining titles at Royal Birkdale and Oakland Hills.
It was a disappointing Major season for Ernie Els and leading PGA Tour Money Winner and Fedex Cup champion Vijay Singh, neither of whom could muster more than a single major top-10.
