Greg Owen, back this week at the Smurfit European Open after a promising start on the US PGA Tour, has been appointed an ambassador for Vitabiotics’ Jointace range of healthcare products.
Greg (33), who gained his PGA Tour card this year, will front the Jointace advertising campaign focusing on the benefits of joint care products for golfers.
He says: "I’m delighted to be working for the Vitabiotics
team. Jointace gel and tablets have been an integral part of my rehabilitation after my back injury and it has been a big part of my recent success in Europe and America."
The former British Masters champion is climbing up the 2005 PGA Tour earnings list, after his dramatic third place finish in the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-am where he finished behind Mike Weir and winner Phil Mickelson.
The Mansfield golfer also finished tied fourth at the Shell Houston Open, and tied seventh at the Wachovia Championship, becoming the first 2005 rookie to earn over $1 million. He’s currently 28th in the moneylist.
Geoff Collins, brand manager for Vitabiotics commented, "We’re delighted that Greg is joining the Jointace team. Golf is a sport where the health of joints and muscles is critical to success, promoting flexibility and a full range of movement by keeping your joints as supple as possible.
"Research has shown that you can improve the length of your swing and club head speed when your joints are in good shape. You can also hit the ball harder. It has certainly helped give Greg a new edge to his game."
The range includes Jointace capsules and Jointace Fizz – effervescent tablets which dissolve to make an orange and ginger-flavoured drink.
