Tiger Woods - golf is a serious matter

Tiger Woods has revealed he never plays golf for fun.
However, having won a tournament - he knows how to make fun of himself!
After claiming the 68th PGA Tour victory of his short career - the AT & T National at the Congressional in Bethesda yesterday - a tournament which he hosted, he cradled the trophy and took the microphone.
“I’ve always wanted to do this, so bear with me,” said Woods. Then, as tournament host he proceeded to interview the tournament champion - in other words, himself!
“So Tiger, how did you play today?” Woods said in a mock question and answer session as the large crowd laughed along with him.
In a nutshell, the World No.1 surged past Anthony Kim, then plotted his way to victory with a final round 67 to overcome clubhouse leader Hunter Mahan (62) for a 13 under par victory.
Earlier, Tiger revealed that unlike many of his contemporaries including Brad Faxon and Todd Hamilton he never plays golf, simply for the joy of playing or to play one of the world's best courses because it's there.
"I don't play golf on my vacations," he says. "I get away from it. I'd never, ever have a golfing vacation, because it's not interesting for me to go out there and do that."
"I love playing. But when I'm at home, it's more about preparing. I'll go out there and I'll play, but it's preparing for the next event. I'll never go and play just to play. Arnold [Palmer] used to do that all the time, and still does.
"I enjoy going out and practising, playing nine or 18, and testing what I just worked on. But that's how I've always done it."
So it comes as no surprise that he has never played courses like Pine Valley - rated No.1 in the world - Seminole in Florida or Merion, where the 2013 US Open is due to be staged.
One cheeky reporter suggested that if he did want to play a course for fun he wouldn't have to pay.
"They comp you, wouldn't they?"
"Maybe," said Tiger with a wide grin.
