 Sirris Black stripe shoes
|
I’m always sceptical about golf shoes. They’re a very personal item of golfing clothing and often – though most will never admit it – we’ll put up with a little discomfort if we think we look cool.
I must have tried dozens of pairs over the years and golf shoes have tended to fall in to two categories – comfortable but not durable or stylish and crippling, with a handful of exceptions.
It’s perhaps too early to say into which category these newly-launched Sirris black stripe shoes fall but after four rounds in typical winter conditions they have retained their shape, kept my feet dry and given me none of the blisters that I normally associate with a new pair of golf shoes.
And for a £32.99 price tag – that’s a pretty good deal.
My only concern is the ‘moulded traction sole’. While there’s a stabilising ridge around the outside, the spikes are not replaceable but permanently moulded, which might cause problems in slippery conditions.
However, the beauty of these smart-looking shoes is that during the summer months, as long as you wiped your feet, you probably wouldn’t have to change them to enter the clubhouse and could stagger home in them if your alcohol consumption took you over the driving limit!

Summary: | As one of the cheapest shoes on the market they are affordable and great value and well worth wearing into the ground and replacing after one season or merely keeping for holidays and weekend breaks.
