Stuburt Profile – so comfortable

Price: £59.99

First, a short history lesson. Whenever I buy a new pair of golf shoes there’s always a pain barrier to be crossed - a blistered toe or heel and which tends to manifest itself in a rubbish scorecard.

My golf bag resembles a First Aid station and instead of endorsing a famous manufacturer’s brand I should be sponsored by the Red Cross or at least Boots The Chemist!

Heel plasters, pain killers and even a pair of previously tamed back-up shoes can lead to my bag being as heavy as a Everest sherpa's rucksack.

So it was with some trepidation that I stepped out in a pair of the latest Stuburt Profile golf shoes while loading up my bag with all the ingredients necessary to alleviate my normal ‘new shoe symptoms’. I even wore them around the garden for an hour - much to the amusement of my spouse – in an attempt to ‘break them in gently, dear.’

More grip in the wider sole

I needn't have worried. They were like carpet slippers. Two full rounds on consecutive days and not a blister in sight.

The enlarged sole and heel areas plus the Champion Scorpion Stinger studs provided a solid platform and flex channels in the sole and soft leather ankle collar, made them extremely comfortable from first tee to 36th green.

My partners even commented on my ‘new dancing shoes’, which are also available in white/burgundy, black/dark grey and black. Nice to be noticed.

Verdict

At last a pair of shoes I can wear straight out of the box without crossing that pain barrier.
