Feels as solid as most steel shafts and doesn't produce any off-putting wippy surprises or lag at the top of my swing. | | Weaknesses: Many find these shafts too stiff, I'm sure based on feel than actual results. It's a case of what suits you. | | Overall: OK, I used to hate graphite shafts with a passion. However, I found a very cheap V-steel 4-wood for sale and thought 'I can always change the shaft' , 30 mins later, back from the range I would have paid double what they were asking, I was almost hitting it as far as my driver! Since that day I have shopped around and bought another two which are now being fitted to all my woods. I tend to use small-headed drivers and hence have to buy the .350 tip size, these often need a little shim to fit snug, although this is nothing your local pro won't do for less than a tenner. It's still an issue. My shafts are the Graffalloy blue tour version in a stiff flex, a little heavier than the standard ones but they perform the same (I just like a little more weight).
It breaks my heart to say this but maybe graphite can be good. |
