'ACCURATE AND FORGIVING'
Strengths:
Nice-looking driver with a large sweet spot
Weaknesses:
Not as long as some but it still goes miles when you hit a screamer.
Overall:
I spent ages trying to find the right driver and I got this online in the sale for £70! It's easy to use and extremely forgiving, the shaft is Graffaloy combined with Wilson Staff NanoTech particles, with a regular flex.
I used to slice three out of four drives but now I'm hitting long and straight. Recommended.

'ACCURATE, FORGIVING, A FANTASTIC DEAL - IF NOT THE LONGEST'
Strengths:
As I walked into my local pro shop, to restock on tees and ammo, I noticed a deal which at first seemed so good as to be a mistake: 'buy any Wilson Staff driver for £189 (rrp £229) and get a free matching fairway wood (rrp £139)'. Well, it wasn't a mistake: apparently this is an offer which all Wilson retailers are running - and it seems incredibly good value. So the first strength is obvious - value for money.

And I must admit, as soon as I picked the driver up it felt good; the slightly shorter, squatter shaft and very deep face both inspired confidence at address. Add to that a seriously classy headcover and you can't fault the club's aesthetics.

Persuaded by the pro to try an 11.5 degree version, I went and started hitting the thing. I was surprised; one ugly low pull excepted, my first dozen efforts, each heralded by a loud but dull thud, all flew on a lovely, rainbow trajectory with just a hint of fade. Even shots out of the toe (my usual hitting location) tended to produce perfectly playable - if short - draws. It's no exaggeration to say I hit the practice ground 'fairway' more often with this club than I do with my existing fairway wood.

Weaknesses:
As accurate as my current 3 wood (Srixon XX10 14 deg) it may be, but it's not massively longer. WhileI normally coax the current big stick (Ping G2 10 deg reg) out to 230 (with the odd 270 screamer) I couldn't match this with the Wilson. Solid efforts came to rest around 215-220, and even the best swing I've put on a golf ball in a long time finished just shy of the 250 marker. I also might have expected more height from an 11.5 deg loft - as it was it was perfect, but noticeably no higher than my 10 deg Ping or my playing partner's 9.5 deg Cobra.
Overall:
We're all continually told that it's accuracy, not length, that matters most off the tee. Obviously, nobody wants to poke a 4 iron down every fairway, so having a big stick that you have confidence in hitting straight it crucial. Here the Wilson delivers, and with this deal (review on 3 wood to follow) you really can't fault it.

'LONG HITTING, FORGIVING & GREAT VALUE'
Strengths:
Bought from Pricebustergolf.co.uk for £150 and got a free fairway wood. Took it out for the first time last week and out drove my 2 handicap playing partner (I'm 24 hc or at least was until I got this driver). Even drove a 320 yard par 4.
Weaknesses:
Leaves me tricky chips and half shots around the green which I'm rubbish at. Also sound is not as nice as Ping or Callaway.
Overall:
I tried loads of clubs including Ping G2 and Callaway etc. but in the end was not prepared to spend the £170 plus for one club. I think that there are slightly better clubs but I do not think there are any as forgiving and long and good value. I am very happy with it and now need to find a good deal for the other fairway wood.
