'It not Tiger, but is that bad.'
Strengths:
It not like any pc\ console golf game I've ever played.
With ProStrike your view when you hit the ball is from above (proper golf) rather than the behind look of most other golf games.
From this position you can play any shot you like. Move ball forward (flop shots)- backwards (punch) in stance. Move your feet to produce fade or draw. You can even open and close the clubface to add spin to your shots during your shot.
Other features are build your own course, a limited amount of game (stroke or match play) or career mode.
You start with a player that is quite good, so can play straight away and not spend the first month
Weaknesses:
Overall this game does not really have weakness, there are things that could be better or updated in a next release.
There is a very limited amount of sub games (career, match play or stroke play), it does not have the range of sub games as Tiger.
I would like a grid when playing short shots (chipping or putting off the green), so I can see which way the green is running.
I have not yet been able to add spin to the ball to make it stop on the green.
It would be nice to be able to edit the clubs in the bag (might want a 7 wood instead of a 3 iron).
A pro shop would be a nice touch, so I could buy the same driver as I use in real life.
The graphic's look a little dated.
Overall:
For a first attempt at a golf game ProStrike is not a bad game.
It is easy to master the basic's and easy to play.
It is refreshing not have to spend a lot of time building up your players skills, before you can start making birdies.
ProStrike is the first game to break away from the behind the golfer view, which makes it stand out from the rest.
Due to the limited selection of games you can play and Tiger 2007 coming out. It might have a short shelve life.
