Strengths: Comfortable from the start. Extremely easy to put on, take off or to adjust mid-round.
[Update 03/12/08] Still going strong, despite heavy usage in some extreme conditions. Warm, waterproof and comfortable.
Weaknesses: I don't like the soft spikes provided with the shoes.
Overall: Easily the best shoes I've owned. I suffer from arthritis in my feet and hands, so the dial adjustment is a god-send. I have two pairs and have not encountered any problems with the adjustment.
[Update 03/12/08] I would have to find an exceptional shoe to make me consider chaging from the Reelfits.
Strengths: Takes you three seconds to put on and one second to take off. Just put your feet in and turn the dial until you get the desired fit. To take them off you simply pull the dial back. You'll never need to do your laces up again. Extremely comfortable, they literally fit like a glove. They look great.
Weaknesses: The retail price is fairly high, although you can easily pick them up for around £100.
Overall: The best golf shoe I've ever worn, and I've been through a few. They are stupidly easy and quick to put on and very comfortable. If you want a solid feel in your shoes when you play and don't want to tighten or do your laces up during a round these shoes are perfect. Good looks and strong build quality too. I can't fault them.
Strengths: Comfort, no pressure on the top like normal shoes, I never noticed the pressure until I tried these Easy to get on and off, I have had my shoes for over a year now and they are still perfect.
Weaknesses: Price I suppose but you get what you pay for
Overall: I will be buying these shoes again!. They are a joy to wear on the course, no need to worry about your laces coming undone, just dial in the pressure that is most comfortable for you and off you go. Top notch!
Strengths: Looks great. Easy to put on and tighten. Easy to take off. Very comfortable. No doing up laces during a round!
Weaknesses: They were the best shoe in the world for ten rounds, until I couldn't get one of them off. Some WD40 did help though. A bit pricey, especially if they don't work properly!
Overall: I think it's a crying shame that the problem with the release mechanism has arisen with this shoe, it's a fantastic shoe when it works. It WAS the best golf shoe I'd ever worn. Maybe it's because it's the first of its kind. How did FootJoys development team not pick up this monumental problem during testing?
Strengths: Super comfy, so easy to dial in the fit of the shoe amd they look great in white
Weaknesses: Second pair I have had to take back as the release will not operate on left shoe after 10 or so rounds. Such a shame as I love them, however, I will be replacing with laces.
Strengths: Easy to use, simply pull out the dial and pull the shoes apart to put the shoe on, then push the dial back and turn until tight. Simple. The integral laces are steel strands (approx 32) so will not snap or work loose like conventional laces. Also when tightening, it also tightens around your ankle to give you an even more secure fit.
Weaknesses: Price will put some off. But none with regarsd to the shoe.
Overall: Very, very comfortable. I've had a load of shoes recently and these are the most comfortable by far.
