Strengths: Sturdy construction. Smooth running. Compact folding. Just a really well thought-out, well-made piece of kit.
Weaknesses: A little heavier than you expect. The scorecard holder is too narrow for some scorecards. Not cheap - about two-thirds of the cost of electric.
Overall: I had been looking for a new way to get my clubs round the course: shoulder problems meant my pull trolley had to go; carrying was only an option with a half-set; and I didn't want the expense of an electric trolley, and would certainly forget to charge it. Users on this site led me in the direction of 3-wheel push carts, and in the end the Clicgear won by a short head over the Sun Mountain Speed Cart.
The usual main talking point about this trolley is how small it is when folded - a process which really is as easy as they make it look in the video - but the most surprising thing is how BIG it is when unfolded. It would stand out in the trolley park even if it wasn't kiwi green (other colours are available for the timid)! Along with this impressive presence comes a feeling of rock-solid build quality, there are no dodgy rattles or squeaks and it looks like it'll last longer than I will.
The main advantage is how easily and smoothly this thing covers the ground. The solid wheels will be easier to maintain than the pneumatic ones of the previous model, yet provide no discernible resistence, and should be wide enough to cause no concern in even the pickiest greenkeeper. Along a level fairway or even up a slight incline, it's no more effort to push than guiding an electric trolley, and even up a steep, muddy hill you just lean into it and off it goes, so much easier on the body than a 2-wheeler. Be careful, though - I nudged it gently on a slight incline on tarmac and had to run after it to stop it ploughing into a parked car about 40 yards away!
If you want to avoid such accidents, just apply the brake, which is quick and easy to access (being hand-operated), and holds comfortably on any hill I've encountered so far. There are other nice touches, from the magnetically-locking console box with room for spare balls, gloves and pencils to the umbrella holder and bottle holder, but those are really just window-dressing: the main thing is that the Clicgear performs its core task, of getting a fully-laden bag over 4 miles of variable terrain with the minimum of fuss and effort, brilliantly.
