Super LS Driver
A driver which offers distance and forgiveness

Need To Know

long, forgiving
Our score:
PRICE: £299.00 YEAR: from 2013

Adams Golf was recently purchased by TaylorMade and it’s easy to see the influence on all Adams metals in 2013.

The Speedline Super LS driver has, like TaylorMade, exploited a white/ black contrast. This is to make the club look larger at address and to help players align themselves but this is nothing new in the golf world. The round head also incorporates some subtle grey graphics.

The LS series of drivers in 2013 incorporate Velocity Slot Technology which aims to increase distance and, importantly in Adams’ drivers, forgiveness. I’m often dubious when brands give fancy-sounding names to the technology they use in their clubs but I must tip my cap to Adams for this effort.

Unquestionably this driver is long. It is right up there with the longest driver I’ve hit this year and the sound when you hit it is more than audible – if you want a quiet driver this one is not for you! The face feels springy and it has a great feel as all Adams metals do.

I was most impressed by the forgiving nature of the Super LS. Hit it off centre and you will still get a shot which travels a good distance. I hit it from heel and toe and every time I was impressed by where my ball finished up. By no means is this a game improvement driver – it needs to be hit properly – but you’ll get good change out of it if you’re struggling off the tee.

The Super LS comes stock with a Mitsubishi Kuro Kage, 60 grams, 45 inches shaft which is low launching and low spinning.
