The new ECCO Tour Hybrid fuses classical styling with the modern spikeless look that you’d expect from golf footwear in 2013.

Sporting the stunning black/brick colour design in wingtip Hydromax during a recent round at West Hill Golf Club inSurrey, the ECCO Tour Hybrid provided me with everything I could possibly wish for in stability, comfort and style.

Ideal for the player seeking shoes that seamlessly transition from the street to the course and clubhouse, the shoe’s highly durable TPU, wear-resistant material provided me with superior grip throughout all of my 78 shots.

Built atop the award-winning ECCO Street EDTS (Ecco Dynamic Traction System) outsole, that also features in the BIOM Hybrid and Golf Street models, the Tour Hybrid boasts a patented configuration of approximately 100 moulded traction bars and 800-plus traction angles for additional traction.

Comfort was ascertained with a second skin, leather lining that generated breathable space for my feet and although I picked up a small blister on my heel toward the end of the round – something common when I wear new footwear for the first time – my feet and toes felt ache-free.

But with any pair of golf shoes, looking the part is what gets me most excited. If you’re wearing footwear that makes you feel confident on the first tee, it will more often than not reflect in your performance.  With a pair of strides to match golf bag and outfit, the Tour Hybrid, likened to something I’d wear on the dancefloor on a Saturday night, ticked all the boxes.
