Angelo right on Que with two holes in one
Filipino star slams his first career ace with another eight holes later
The famous adage of waiting ages for one bus before two come along at once could not have been more appropriate for Angelo Que as he swapped double deckers for holes in one on Tuesday.
The bubbly Filipino, who had never made an ace in his career before, got the defence of his Selangor Masters title off to a flyer by making two holes in one at the 6th and 14th during his 18-hole practice round.
“I couldn’t have asked for a better start,” said Que, who has reportedly made Asian Tour history in the process.
“I’d never had a hole in one in my life and all of a sudden I have two in one day. The funny thing was that we were talking about it on the 14th tee and said what if I had another hole-in-one here and I did it.”
While the feat is something to build momentum on, Que remains fully focused on defending the title he won in a playoff 12 months ago at his much-loved Kota Permai Golf and Country Club.
“I seem to have luck here and whenever I'm over in Malaysia, I'm so relaxed. The greens are nice and the fairways are beautiful,” added Que.
He’s certainly had a nice bit of luck so far this week - the only downside is that he would have won a sports car had his feat occurred 24 hours later.
