Practice day tickets ahead of the 2010 Ryder Cup between Europe and the US (October 1-3) at The Celtic Manor, Newport, Gwent will be available for purchase from Monday (January 18).

Anyone applying through www.rydercup.com/tickets will be able to book their places at the Ryder Cup by purchasing up to eight tickets for the three practice days (from September 28-30).

And by purchasing those tickets, it will not affect other applications which individuals may have made for match day tickets in the second computerised random ticket ballot draw to take place at the end of April 2010.

Practice day tickets enable golf fans who might not succeed in the ticket ballot, to at least see golf's greatest players up close and personal as the build-up gathers momentum over the Twenty Ten Course, while visiting the merchandise stands and savouring the atmosphere.

However, be advised that all public tickets for The 2010 Ryder Cup will feature Photo ID. If you are purchasing Practice Day tickets or are successful in the ballot, you will be required to submit a passport style photograph for yourself and all members of your party before being allowed to purchase your tickets.

Practice Day Tickets for Tuesday and Wednesday cost £30 each – with a special concession for under-16s (£15). On Thursday for the additional opening ceremony, the price is £40 (concessions £20). Car parking costs £10 per car on Tuesday and Wednesday and £20 on Thursday.

Ryder Cup director Richard Hills said: “This opportunity to buy practice day tickets with immediate effect, irrespective of the outcome of the random ticket ballot in April, represents a wonderful chance to savour the electric atmosphere of the three-day build-up to the Ryder Cup."
