TaylorMade believes it has taken adjustable technology to the next level with the introduction in February of the R11S all-white driver, a Tour Preferred (TP) version of which is currently in the hands of its staff players including Sergio Garcia.

The manufacturer's Tom Olsavsky explains to the Spaniard that ASP technology - a raised five-point plate which can be rotated and secured - allows the golfer to adjust the face angle independent of loft setting which means the face angle can be adjusted independently to the loft and vice versa - neutral, slightly open, open, slightly closed and closed.

The R11S driver will be in the shops in early February, priced at £349.

Looks like Sergio will have a lot of fun with it.

Damn, i'll have to get one of those as it's got a 5 position ASP instead of my current 3 position, that way i can look at them when i take the driver headcover off and wonder if i'll ever actually change it!

No problem slicing mine, straight or touch of draw

Agreed, I can't see this being a million times better than the normal r11, will have to give it a try and see if it's as good as they make out. Looks nice though

More unnecessary fluff to make you more confused as to whether it's set right for you! I'll keep my r9 I think ! I would consider a change to the superdeep or supertri, and whilst taylormade continue to bring new drivers out I can wait for the secondhand prices to tumble! I love my current setup, but a 420cc head is possibly hurting my accuracy a little..... Oh I don't really do white heads either!
I've yet to see someone hit an r11 well, and I've seen a few out on the courses! ( runs for cover ). ;)

It's weird how so many pros who are not TM staff players are using the R11 if it's not as good as they make out. I am sure they must get paid a little for using the driver but it must upset there sponsor to see them using a product very obviously from a competitor.

Just the fact that it's white makes it so obvious what club all the pro's are using, apart from if it's poults' limited edition driver. I've tried the R11 and the tp version and while it's probably one of the best driver's out there, I can't understand where they get that price from, even with the fact they're spending so much on getting pros to endorse it. Unless I'm carrying the ball 350 yards with it every time, it's really not worth that much of my hard earned cash to upgrade, especially now they've got a new one in a different colour!

Imagine being a Taylor Made Sponsored Pro and having to try out a new driver 3 times a year must be purgatory for the poor mites.. COuldnt have one of their pros using a back number driver... Pro shop in Middleborough has stopped stocking TM as they keep bringing out new models making the last stuff 'old',   daft I call it..

You mean no other manufacturer makes more than 1 driver a year?

Friend of mine just bought r11. I used to out drive him. Now he out drives me by thirty yards.I have to try r11s.

TM must be the only manufacturer who's forgery versions coming out of Far East Asia work better than the originals! Advertorial: "The new R11S from TaylorMade. For the discerning 28hcap semi-pro, or easily fooled, easily parted from their money, idiot golfer."
