Full Biography

Matthew Fitzpatrick is an English professional golfer who currently plays on the PGA Tour and DP World Tour

Fitzpatrick was born on 1 September 1994 to Russell and Susan Fitzpatrick.

His brother Alex - who is five years younger - is also a professional golfer.

Matthew Fitzpatrick was born in Sheffield and he went to Tapton School and later attended Northwestern University.

He is a massive football fan and is a lifelong supporter of Sheffield United.

Fitzpatrick had an outstanding amateur career. He made the cut at the 2013 Open and finished as the low amateur, winning the silver medal.

The highlight of his amateur career was undoubtedly winning the 2013 U.S. Amateur at The Country Club at Brookline, beating Canada's Corey Conners in the final.

Fitzpatrick also played in the 2013 Walker Cup. PGA Tour players Justin Thomas and Max Homa also represented the U.S. side that year.

Fitzpatrick turned professional in 2014, making his debut at the Irish Open.

He played the remainder of that season on the European Tour and Challenge Tour.

The Englishman's maiden victory came at the 2015 British Masters at Woburn.

As of November 2022, Fitzpatrick has won eight events on the DP World Tour

The biggest victory of his career thus far came at winning his first major at the 2022 U.S. Open.

The scene of his incredible victory was Brookline, where he had won the U.S. Amateur more than 10 years previously.

As of 2022, his reported net worth was between $5-10m, though this was increased considerably after he finished eighth in the PGA Tour's Player Impact Program which netted him a $5m pay day.

Fitzpatrick is known as one of the hardest working players in professional golf.

His sponsors are Titleist, Skechers, Castore, DemandScience, Bettinardi, Protiviti, Troon, Workday and Rolex.
