The par-3 17th at TPC Sawgrass is arguably the most famous and feared par-3 in the world. It’s a wedge, 9-iron at most. Surely it cannot cause problems for those teeing up in The Players Championship?

Think again. Bob Tway made a record-breaking 12 here and you may remember Sean O’Hair stuck two balls in the drink when in contention four years ago.

The 17th has seen just about everything. A slam-dunk par save from Fred Couples, Paul Azinger’s hole-in-one, Tiger Woods’ electrifying putt from the length of the green and a seagull picking up a ball before dropping it in the lake.
