Westwood, 45, switched to PING's eye-catching new Sigma 2 Fetch mallet putter en route to a top-five finish at the Valderrama Masters several weeks ago, before going on to end his four-year victory drought at the Nedbank Golf Challenge on Sunday.

The 24-time European Tour winner fired a stunning final-round 8-under 64 in South Africa to finish three strokes clear of Sergio Garcia.

The Sigma 2 Fetch has been all talk of the golf equipment world of late. Not just because it looks and feels great, assists with alignment and boosts perimeter weighting, but more so because it can actually retrieve the golf ball out the cup for you.

With a hole the size of a ball, the design allows the putter to fit inside the cup and pick up the ball without requiring the golfer to bend down.

Westwood, a PING staff player, has relied on a mallet shape in recent years, but Sigma 2 Fetch is likely the first he’s used featuring a hole in the centre of the flange.

His 35-inch putter has a lie angle of 18 degrees, four degrees of loft  and a black PP58 midsize grip.

Westwood also relied on his PING G400 LST driver (10 degrees), G400 3-wood,  G hybrid, i210 irons  (4-UW), Glide Forged wedge (60-degree) and Titleist Pro V1 ball.
