JOHN CHAPMAN CHARITY GOLF CHALLENGE

All,

This event is being held at Matlock golf club on 1st September 2014.

It is being organised as a celebration of his life by his home club and Derbyshire Police golf Society.

John was a brilliant scratch golfer who was the the National Police Golf Champion. He was a brilliant Dad and cop and was massively respected by his friends and colleagues. He died last year, aged 39, of cancer leaving a wife and two youngsters.

All monies raised are being donated to the Ashgate Hospice and Weston Park hospital who provided superb care for all his family during his illness.

We have opportunities for hole sponsorship or team entries. This is a cracking golf course in the Derbyshire Dales. It is in brilliant condition at the moment.

I can provide more information and entry sheets for anyone interested in this event.

Thanks

In partnership with his home club of Matlock Golf club we organised the John Chapman Charity Golf Challenge on Monday 1st September 2014 . It was a  magnificent day for all concerned!  We have raised around £4,200 for Ashgate Hospice and the cancer ward at Weston Park Hospital. Sandie, Johns wife and his great kids attended all day and had an incredibly positive experience .They ran the Half Way House giving free drinks and cakes to all attendees. This led to them meeting over 200 people who turned out in respect of John and his legacy. The whole day was  uplifting and inspirational, meeting old friends and making new ones. Players came from all over the UK to support the event. The golf course and its representatives were incredible and the feedback from all who attended suggests that this should become an annual event. This is a beautiful golf course in a majestic part of the Peak District. Thoroughly recommended for a visit.
