Maximum score comp (form of stroke play competition)

Is the maximum score ( pick your ball up stroke play) competition intended to replace existing medal competitions. I thought it was arranged as an alternative competition still playing existing club medal comps. Our club seems to have adopted the maximum score competition for all club medal competitions only leaving club championships as traditional medal stroke play comp where you are unable to pick up your ball..

What are other clubs doing?

CONGU® directs that Competitions capped at less than par +5 per hole will not be eligible for handicap alterations, and will be deemed as ‘non-qualifying’ for handicap.

There is no intention to replace the integrity of the Medal scoring system for elite or championship golf. The ‘max score’ system may be useful at club level for beginners or less experienced players, or where pace of play is a particular concern. Club Committees should consider carefully the appropriateness of this format for traditional stroke play events, particularly those which have gross prizes, are qualifiers for subsequent rounds/match play, or which are for prestigious trophies.

Yes I understand this but our

I Just wondered if any other club has made this decision to adopt the maximum alternative format in this way
