Earlier this year, Gary Woodland won his maiden major, claiming the U.S Open at Pebble Beach. After sealing the win, Woodland revealed that his U.S Open victory might not be the biggest thing to happen to him in the summer and announced that he and his wife Gabby were expecting twins.

Back in 2017, Woodland's wife Gabby was expecting twins but devastatingly, one of the babies died due to complications during the pregnancy. The other baby survived but was born 10 weeks early and weighed just three pounds, but Jaxson is now a healthy young toddler and now has two baby sisters.

Woodland took to Twitter to announce the good news on Friday.

Due to his wife's pregnancy, Woodland didn't play in the Wyndham Championship, but he is scheduled to return at the Northern Trust, the first playoff stop in the FedEx Cup.

LONG DRIVE CHAMP MAURICE ALLEN BOMBS DRIVE OVER NIAGARA FALLS

Gary Woodland announces the birth of twin daughters

In 2005, John Daly attempted to become the first golfer in the world to drive a ball from Canada to the USA. The challenge was to drive the ball across Niagara Falls, roughly 342 yards, with the elements in between making it even more difficult. A crowd of over 5,000 people turned up to watch Daly in his attempt to make the Guinness World Record books, but the former big hitter couldn't get the job done.

Maurice Allen, 37, won the 2018 World Long Drive Championship when he hit a 393 yard drive. He has also won twice on the World Long Drive Tour, winning the 2017 Catawba Classic with a 395 yard drive and the 2017 Mile High Showdown with a monster 436 yard bomb.

The 342 yard drive across Niagara Falls certainly isn't the longest drive that Allen needed to hit to make it over, but the high winds, mist and fog made the challenge extremely difficult, but Maurice Allen stepped up to the challenge.
