HOW DO YOU GET AN OFFICIAL GOLF HANDICAP?

Handicaps can only be administered by a golf club affiliated to a Golf Union.

A player must play a minimum of three, 18-hole rounds of golf, typically with a playing partner who already holds a golf handicap certificate, and then submit these scores into their home club for their new official handicap to be calculated.

The Council of National Golf Unions (CONGU) is responsible for the Unified Handicapping System (UHS). Each of the eight golfing Unions/Associations in Great Britain and Ireland administers the UHS for its members.
