Andrew Johnston – known to most a “Beef” – has clinched his PGA Tour card after finishing fourth at the Tour’s Albertsons Boise Open.

The crowd pleaser held the lead after 36 holes, and managed to continue playing well enough over the weekend to secure his ticket to the States.

“Man, I can’t wait,” he said. “Happy days. I came over and had a couple good weeks, so I’m really looking forward to it.

“I have expectations for myself to go out and compete and do well and that, but you’ve got to put the work in and prepare well for it, and that’s the first step before I go out and play in any event.”

He has recently said he will split his time between the European Tour and the PGA Tour.

The Englishman enamoured himself to golf fans when he said he would “get smashed” following a win at Valderama, and it seems he’ll enjoy a few pints following his latest triumph.

He explained: “I think there will be a Coke or a Fanta or something like that…nah, there are going to be a few beers, man.”

Even more impressive, Johnston achieved the feat on National Cheeseburger Day in the US!
