Tiger Woods commits to Players Championship and Wells Fargo

Tiger Woods has revealed via his social media accounts that he will tee it up at next week's Wells Fargo Championship and the PGA Tour's flagship tournament of the year, the Players Championship, the following week.

Woods, who has not played since a tied for 32nd at the Masters earlier this month, won the Players Championship at TPC Sawgrass in 2001 and 2013.

He won at Quail Hollow in 2007 but has not made the cut there since a fourth-place showing in 2009 and has not played the tournament since 2012. Woods missed last year's US PGA Championship at Quail Hollow due to injury.

Woods will make his first start at the Players since 2015.

After starting the year ranked No.656 in the world, Woods is up to No.91 in the latest world rankings.

Woods recorded three straight top-12 finishes during the Florida swing, including a runner-up finish alongside Patrick Reed at the Valspar Championship and a T-5 finish at the Arnold Palmer Invitational.
