Practice all six distances

When you've hit one of the balls at each of the six distances then try again but hitting the balls in a random order. This will help you understand the distances in more of a real life, on the course, situation.

Knowing your wedge and feeling comfortable with it is vital but depending on the lie or the gradient of the slope you're hitting off, another shot, such as the chip and run, might be needed.

So think about course management when playing the chip shots on your round.
