Huddersfield-based Glenbrae Golf has already built a strong reputation with its range of unique Spirol yarn and seamless knitwear. Now it has put a sock in it!
But this is no ordinary sock. It’s aimed directly at golfers looking for more performance and comfort and Glenbrae says its technicians have introduced nine innovations to make its product unique.
Using its revolutionary Coolmax yarns, Glenbrae says its socks – expected to sell for around £7 a pair – have been designed ‘to work in conjunction with the natural biomechanical movements of the foot’.
Features include, tailored left and right foot design, a less bulky ‘comfort toe', breathable bridge, towelling sole and heel and a elasticated arch and ankle.
The sock was tested by 120 professionals at the Glenbrae PGA Fourball Championships at Hesketh, Southport and the response was encouraging.
I’ve tried a pair, too, and the attention to detail certainly improved my comfort as courses have become heavier underfoot in recent weeks.
Glenbrae one-size golf socks fit sizes from 7-11 and are available in black/grey, grey/black and navy/grey.
