Branden Grace reaped the rewards for switching his driver by landing his first PGA Tour title at the RBC Heritage.

Grace, 27, may have already proven an established winner on the European circuit with seven career wins, but he sealed his maiden title on American soil with a two-shot victory over British duo Luke Donald and Russell Knox.

Despite missing the cut at Augusta National a week previous, Grace bounced back superbly by opening and closing his week at Hilton Head Island with rounds of 66 to finish on 9-under par.

The Callaway staff player performed admirably off the tee at the tree-lined Harbour Town Golf Links, assisted by his new limited edition XR16 Sub Zero driver.

According to Callaway, Grace was drawn to the club’s shape, finish and particularly its sound. Grace also felt like he could shape the flight off the tee as well manipulate the trajectory up or down.

That was clear for all to see when Grace, standing on the 72nd hole with a two-shot lead, ripped the longest drive of the day down 18 at 312 yards into the narrowest part of the fairway.

Grace typically prefers low spin drivers, and prior to the Sub Zero had been playing the Big Bertha Alpha 816 Double Black Diamond, which he won with earlier this year on the European Tour.

The South African also changed to a 16-degree Callaway Big Bertha Alpha 816 3-wood due to the course conditions. The club had a softer shaft profile and was tipped less than his previous gamer to produce more carry.

Elsewhere, America's Bryson DeChambeau produced a superb professional debut performance finishing in a tie for fourth alongside compatriot Kevin Na.
