Wilson staffer Paul Lawrie continued his remarkable resurgence after etching his name on the Mother of Pearl Trophy for the second time in his career.

The popular Aberdonian, who re-signed with Wilson two years ago, secured his second European Tour title in the space of 11 months with a blistering final-round 65 and four-shot victory at the Qatar Masters.

Sporting his beloved Wilson FG Tour irons, the 1999 Open champion ranked seventh in greens in regulation for the week on 79.6% and missed just two greens on Sunday – a round Lawrie was extremely proud of.

“I don’t think I can play much better than that,” said the Scot, after finishing with a 15-under total to claim a seventh European Tour title.

“When you’ve got a chance to win a tournament you don’t sleep as well the night before and things go racing through your mind. You’ve got to get back to basics and I did that. I hit some nice shots coming in.

“I’ve been playing well for a long, long time, but it’s just nice to come out one ahead and shoot seven under.”

The FG Tour irons are precision forged from a mild carbon steel and the Tour-proven design incorporates minimally progressive offests, a square toe blade shape and thin top line to fit the better player's eye. Wilson claims its Tour-configured sole design promotes better turf interaction over a wide range of lies.

Wilson Golf’s first victory of the 2012 season rockets Lawrie up to World No.47, into the automatic Ryder Cup standings and into both the WGC-Matchplay later this month and Volvo Matchplay in May.

Lawrie acts as a Wilson Staff Advisory Member and helps with the design of new Wilson clubs.

Striding home in his FJ Icons, Lawrie maintained FootJoy's 100% winning record on the European Tour in 2012.
