Grip-makers Golf Pride has signed a five-year agreement with top instructor David Leadbetter to promote its products and to stress the importance of selecting the right size grips and to change them regularly to prevent wear and tear.

The Eaton Corporation, which owns the Golf Pride brand, is also developing a new teaching aid with Leadbetter, who coaches Lee Westwood, Justin Rose and Ian Poulter, to help golfers with placing their hands correctly on the handle of the club. The grip will feature raised fins to ensure correct positioning of the palms and fingers and is scheduled to be available early next year.

"The alliance forged between David Leadbetter and Eaton affords golfers another educational tool in selecting the right grip for their game, whatever a golfer’s age or ability level," says Golf Pride’s Jeff Fiorini "We look forward to working with David and tapping into his teaching philosophy."

Says Leadbetter, who has teaching academies sprinkled around the world: "I have taught some of the best golfers in the world, and I know that having the right grip can make a big difference to your game."
