Engineered for high performance
Titleist has rolled out four new golf balls for 2012, comprising NXT Tour, NXT Tour S, Velocity and DT SoLo.
The brand claims its new line-up has been designed to deliver the best in its category of balls for the improving golfer, in terms of quality and consistency and for golfers of with a wide range of ages and abilities.
“Our golf ball product development process is the same for all Titleist golf balls,” says Bill Morgan, senior vice president for golf ball research and development.
“It always starts with golfer-testing where we identify performance improvements that will help golfers score better and determine what their preferences are.”
Titleist’s NXT Tour, first introduced in 2001, features a large dual core, three-piece construction with a slightly smaller, soft centre and higher volume outer core layer that has been engineered for increased power and distance.
Taking the line to the next level is the NXT Tour S, introduced as option for golfers seeking feel from a softer compression. Titleist has also introduced the NXT Tour S. The makers claim it produces a piercing, yet consistent flight for drivers and long irons.
The NXT Tour and NXT Tour S will be available from March at a recmmended retail price (RRP) £34 per dozen.
