No-go-show for Callaway

Callaway Golf Company announced today that it will not participate in the 2000 Las Vegas PGA International Golf Show, scheduled for Sept. 11-13 at the Las Vegas Convention Center. In announcing the move, Mick McCormick, Executive Vice President of Global Sales for Callaway Golf, said the Company is exploring new venues and timelines to match the introduction of new Callaway Golf products.

“The time has come for us to move in another direction and take a new approach to bringing our products to market,” McCormick said. “The Las Vegas Show has evolved into much more of an international event, and with our new strategy of taking ownership of our international subsidiaries and participating in trade shows in Europe and Asia, we feel we need to consider a new vehicle that enables us to work with our customers better.”
