Grafton chilli top.

It’s hard to imagine wrapping up in waterproof tops and trousers, when we seem to have enjoyed an interminable Indian summer that has lasted, for many of us, several weeks.

However, manufacturers cannot stand still, despite the lack of rain, and the Ping Collection is no exception with the revelation of its latest autumn and winter weather-beaters.

The Grafton rain jacket and Atlas trousers are made from 100% polyester microfibre laminate using its exclusive Function 3 Dynamic technology, which Ping says has been ‘developed to take performance of golf outerwear to a new level.’

It comprises a three-part system of fabric, coating and finish, to create what Ping claims will be ‘waterproof, breathable and windproof, as well as being light and durable.’

The Grafton top is available in pewter / black, black / pewter and chilli / black; in sizes from small – XXL, though at £120 it’s too expensive to risk being stuff in your golf bag after a wet round to get mildewy!

The Atlas trousers, with a similar waterproof and breathable system also come in S-XXL with 29-34-inch leg lengths. Price is £80.
