ProQuip's new Sportswool shirts in red and white

ProQuip, official suppliers of weatherwear to the 2010 European Ryder Cup team, will launched its latest range of versatile clothing in May, featuring a lightweight men’s 'windshield' top and Sportswool shirts styled for wearing both on and off the course.

The half-sleeve PQ Windshield has been designed, says ProQuip, to be both functional and comfortable during the golf swing. Its chest adjusters enable the top to subtly custom-fit each garment to a golfer's body shape, while concealed side pockets add practicality to hold tee pegs, a glove or a scorecard.

It's made from from a lightweight, breathable micro fibre, finished with a crease-resistant Teflon coating and an inner lightweight mesh lining.

ProQuip’s managing director, Richard Head, says The Windshield is manufactured from a robust, but extremely soft, fabric that is ideal for logo embroidery and has a suggested retail price of £45. It is available in black/lime, black, black/silver, navy, navy/sea blue and sea blue/navy.

The ProQuip Sportwool is made with extra fine Australian Merino wool for superior thermal regulation and is already used by athletes many other sports, to keep you cool when it's hot and warm in the cold, while wicking away vapour and sweat.

Each shirt features a button-down collar design and is available in red, black, white or navy (with long or short sleeves) with a suggested price of £59. For further information on
