Robert Rock capped off a stunning month for Callaway Golf after landing the Carlsbad company’s third consecutive victory of the European Tour season.

The Belfry-affiliated pro brushed aside the likes of Rory McIlroy and Tiger Woods to capture his second title in seven months with a narrow one-shot victory at the Abu Dhabi Golf Championship.

Following on from Branden Grace’s sensational double in South Africa, the 34-year-old sealed Callaway’s hat-trick thanks to some scintillating ball striking with his X-Forged irons.

Rock ranked fifth in greens in regulation on 77.8%, highlighted by two superb long irons to within six-feet of the pin at both the tricky par-4 14th and par-4 16th, which he converted with his Odyssey Black Series i#1 without touching the sides.

Callaway claims its X-Forged irons feature Flighted CG Design for added feel, trajectory and distance control, as well as a Notch Back, shorter length and minimal offset suited to elite players.

At Torrey Pines, Bridgestone staffer Brandt Snedeker picked up his third PGA Tour victory in dramatic circumstances at the Farmers Insurance Open.

Snedeker took full advantage of runaway leader Kyle Stanley’s triple-bogey eight on the 72nd hole to defeat him on the second extra hole, using Bridgestone’s new B330 ball.

"This is the best ball I've ever played, especially in the wind," said Snedeker.

The four-piece ball has a larger core and a 6% softer urethane cover than the previous B330, and features Bridgestone’s dual-dimple technology, offering enhanced wind performance.

Bridgestone claims the new B330, available on March 1, targets golfers with swing speeds in excess of 105 mph.

Snedeker performed admirably in the final-round with his Bridgestone J40 cavity irons, missing just one green in regulation en route to a closing 67 in California.
