Widec II iron

Fifteen-year-old Curtis Filmer will be adding a new club to his bag very soon – a 19-degree Adams Tight Lies fairway metal – courtesy of County Golf and Golfmagic.

He won the club for the excellent review of his Mizuno Widec II irons.

He said: "They are a great looking iron to be proud. You might not hit them so far at the start but as you build a better swing with them your game and distance will improve."

The junior member of Gregg Hall Golf Club near Newtownards, County Down, Northern Ireland, has been playing since he was 11 and has already reached 18 handicap.

Ben Varey, who works as a corporate travel manager in Basingstoke, sent us an unusual review of the Srixon UR-X ball, which he described as ‘a great ball with a strange smell!’

The 15 handicap member at Andover commented: "Apart from the rather odd bubblegum aroma when you break open the box, this is a great all round ball which helped me to knock two shots off my handicap in the last monthly medal (net 66)."

He adds: "I am a regular visitor to your fantastic site and so far I have mainly been a passive observer. Perhaps my new found fame will inspire me to be contribute more in the future."

MD Golf’s forged irons

Dan Hare, at 6ft 4 in, told us in his review he was impressed with the customer service of MD Golf during his purchase of their Forged irons though customising was a little restricted because of his height.

"The clubs have improved my game a lot. I’m down to 14 handicap now and have great confidence in the clubs, which are very consistent," said Dan (34) and who place at Harefield Place GC in West London.

Why not tell us about the equipment in your bag and you could win one of three Hippo drivers we’re offering during February.
