PING staffer Lee Westwood landed his second title in three weeks at the Thailand Golf Championship, once again living up to his Asian specialist billing.
The World No.2, who missed out on a magic 59 by one shot on Thursday, sprinted away from the pack with rounds of 60, 64, 73 and 69, to record a hat-trick of wins in the continent for 2011.
Westwood finished the week third in greens in regulation with his PING i10 irons (81%) and eighth in driving distance with his favoured PING G10 (300 yards).
And although the Worksop wonder slipped out of the top ten in driving accuracy, 79% was not to be confused with disappointing.
But one of the reasons why Westwood is feeling optimistic about his chances of - dare we say it - winning a major next season, is that his putting stats are finally matching the quality of his ball striking. Wielding his PING Redwood Anser, the 38-year-old ranked fifth in putts per round with 27.5 putts.
