The British Masters will return to the European Tour for the first time in seven years when Ian Poulter hosts the event at Woburn in October.

The tournament becomes the seventh Race to Dubai event on UK soil in 2015, and will also be hosted by Justin Rose, Lee Westwood and Luke Donald over the next four years.

"British golf has been in a good place for a number of years now with the success we have had internationally, and as players we have all been keen to get more tournaments on British soil, and in England in particular, so we are grateful to Sky Sports and The European Tour for helping to make this happen,” said Poulter.

The British Masters was last played at The Belfry in 2008, and returns to Woburn for the first time since 2002 and 17th time overall.

Previous winners of the British Masters at Woburn include Greg Norman (1981), Lee Trevino (1985), Seve Ballesteros (1986 and 1991), Sandy Lyle (1988), Sir Nick Faldo (1989) Ian Woosnam (1994) and Justin Rose (2002).

Woburn's Marquess course will host the £3m event from 8-11 October.
