Adamant he was retiring from the game, the world's most successful caddie Steve Williams has gone back to Adam Scott.

The pair parted ways at the end of the 2014 PGA Tour season because Williams, 50, wanted to cut back on his schedule.

After struggling with just two top-10 finishes this year, however, Scott has decided to let go of Mike Kerr and reunite with Williams, who was on the bag when Scott won his first major at the 2013 Masters.

"Steve was adamant that he was not going to caddie in 2015, so he took some convincing, but I am very happy he's agreed to help out," Scott told the PGA Tour.

"We've had great success together, so I'm looking forward to being on the links with Steve again."

Williams, who is best known for serving as Tiger Woods's caddie from 1999 to 2011, first worked with Scott in the summer of 2011 and helped him reach the world number one position in May 2014.

The New Zealander will caddie for Scott in his next four events at the US Open, Open Championship, WGC-Bridgestone Invitational and PGA Championship.
