When Mark James wrote his Book, Into the Bear Pit he may not have realised how badly he upset England's finest golfer, The Guvnor, Nick Faldo.
But Faldo, never one to be vindictive over trivial comments made by anyone was thought to be in the process of making an official complaint to the European Tour about James' salacious and hurtful comments in the controversial book.
James graphically described how he threw a good luck letter from Faldo in the bin, claiming that it was the team who told him to do so because Faldo was in no way wishing the team the best of luck, he was just jealous of not making the team.
But Faldo has decided not to make a complaint to the European Tour hierarchy and James seems to be off the hook.
"I just wanted to correct some things - I won't be making a complaint to the Tour. It's all over and done with." Said Faldo, who was left out of Mark James team at Brookline last year.
But Faldo may have to sit down at some time with Mark James and clear the air, especially if Faldo continues his good form of late as he may qualify by right for the Belfry showdown in 2001.
Ironically, if a complaint was to be made, it would be James who would chair the meeting as he is Chairman of the Tour committee!
